NEWS LETTER
April 2024 Edition
Dear Saint George Tech Community,
Welcome to the April edition of our newsletter, where we keep you informed about the latest developments both within our campus community and beyond. As an Afrikaner, South African online university, we recognize the importance of staying abreast of current events, particularly those that impact our society and our institution. In this edition, we focus on the unfolding political landscape in South Africa, with particular attention to Julius Malema and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Cyril Ramaphosa, the persecution of the Boers, and the implications for the future of our college.
Julius Malema and the EFF:
Julius Malema and the EFF continue to command attention in South African politics, advocating for radical economic transformation and social justice. Their influence extends into various spheres, including education, where their calls for decolonization and inclusivity have resonated with many students in the country. However, their methods and rhetoric have also stirred controversy, particularly regarding their stance on land reform and calls for violence against whites. As a college dedicated to promoting Afrikaner heritage and values, we must critically engage with these issues and ensure that our community remains inclusive and respectful of diverse perspectives, while protecting and honoring our own culture and history.
Cyril Ramaphosa and Governance:
President Cyril Ramaphosa faces significant challenges as he strives to steer South Africa towards stability and prosperity. His administration's efforts to address corruption, stimulate economic growth, and promote social cohesion are commendable but face formidable obstacles. As an online university, we are uniquely positioned to contribute to the national discourse on these issues, offering a platform for constructive dialogue and innovative solutions. Our commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility compels us to support initiatives that advance the interests of all South Africans, regardless of background or political affiliation. IF SOUTH AFRICA FAILS, AFRIKANERS FAIL!!
Persecution of the Boers:
The persecution of the Boer community remains a troubling reality in contemporary South Africa, with reports of violence, discrimination, and land expropriation without compensation. As an institution rooted in Afrikaner culture and heritage, we cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of our fellow citizens. We stand in solidarity with the Boers and all those who are marginalized or oppressed, advocating for justice, equality, and human dignity. Through education and activism, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by these injustices, reaffirming our commitment to the principles of freedom and democracy.
Implications for the Future of Our College:
The current political climate in South Africa poses both challenges and opportunities for our college. As other Afrikaans institutions HAVE BEEN FORCED CLOSED! face closure or restructuring, we must adapt and innovate to ensure our continued relevance and success. Our online platform enables us to reach a diverse student body and offer quality education to learners across the country and beyond. By embracing change and embracing our unique identity, we can chart a course for the future that honors our heritage while embracing the possibilities of the digital age.
In conclusion, the events unfolding in South Africa today have profound implications for our college and our society as a whole. By remaining informed, engaged, and proactive, we can navigate these challenges with resilience and determination, reaffirming our commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and social justice.
Best regards,
